And the defense cap (melee, magic, ranged) is likely lower than the elements cap since those damage types are more common. In Origins it was 75%, (85% in Awakening), so it wouldn't surprise me if it was something similar. Not sure what the cap is, but it could be less than 85%. One of the archaeologists on Eden Prime says Thank the Maker in response to Shepard’s. However, there's probably a cap, so keep that in mind.
